JOE NELSON 
Founder + Owner, Team Iowa

Joe has been treating in the Iowa City area for over ten years and founded Team Iowa in March, 2017. He graduated from the University of Iowa Doctor of Physical Therapy program where he is currently an adjunct faculty member. Joe is a Certified Manual Physical Therapist (1.5 year training after DPT degree) and has also completed certifications as a Functional Movement Specialist, ASTYM Soft Tissue Injury Specialist, and Golf Fitness Specialist. He enjoys working with local sports teams and volunteering in the Iowa City community. Joe loves spending time with his wife Annalise and their three children Eliana, Ann-Marie and Simon. In his free time, he enjoys dance parties with his family, playing ukulele, collecting baseball memorabilia, biking with friends, and playing sports with his children.

ANNALISE NELSON 
Brand Strategist

Annalise is the head of  marketing, advertising, charitable giving, staff appreciation, branding and design. She is also the curator of Team Iowa’s social media content. Prior to Team Iowa, Annalise was an elementary teacher. She taught a variety of grades in her 9 years of teaching. Annalise loves dreaming, creating, growing, learning and spending time with her husband, Joe, and their 3 children: Eliana, Ann-Marie and Simon.

KIM RICHARDS-PASSINI 
Physical Therapist

Kim graduated from the University of Iowa Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2017. She is originally from Ames, Iowa and completed her undergraduate degree at Iowa State University in 2015 with a major in Kinesiology. Kim is certified in integrative dry needling and has also taken continuing education courses with a focus in women’s health and in pre/post-partum. She additionally works as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa teaching case based learning classes. In her free time, Kim enjoys teaching barre classes, traveling with her husband Kyle, and cheering on the Cyclones and Hawkeyes.

MATT HRVOL 
Physical Therapist 

Born and raised in Iowa, Matt Hrvol, PT, DPT, CSCS, CPS graduated from the University of Iowa’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy program in 2016. After graduating, Matt spent his initial years as an orthopedic and sports physical therapist in Chicago where he completed extensive coursework in Myofascial Taping, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, and Myofascial Cupping. He holds certifications in Blood Flow Restriction Training, MobilityWOD’s Movement and Mobility program, and is both a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Champion Performance Specialist. In his free time, Matt enjoys weightlifting, world-traveling, craft beers and being a dog dad.

EMILY DUNN 
Physical Therapist 

Emily Dunn, PT, DPT graduated from the University of Iowa Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in 2019. She is currently pursuing a variety of continuing education courses to provide excellent care and assist her patients in meeting their goals. Emily is originally from New London, Wisconsin and completed her undergraduate degree at St. Norbert College (Green Bay) in 2016. Being from Wisconsin, she loves to cheer for the Green Bay Packers! Emily also enjoys spending her time outdoors golfing, skiing, and hiking with her husband, Kyle and their golden retriever, Murphy.

PAOLO MARILIM
Physical Therapist 

Paolo Marilim PT, DPT, CPS, TPI is originally from Clinton, Iowa. He completed his undergraduate degree in Health and Human Physiology from the University of Iowa, and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Paolo was drawn to Team Iowa for its family feel, and he enjoys the opportunity this unique clinic provides in helping people get back to the activities they love. In his free time, Paolo likes golfing, playing tennis, and spending time with his family and friends.

KAYLI TOROK  
Physical Therapist

Kayli Torok, PT, DPT graduated from the University of Iowa Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in 2022. She is originally from Toledo, Ohio and completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of Kentucky. Kayli was drawn to Team Iowa for the clinic community and the opportunity to work one on one with patients while helping them achieve their goals. She also has a special interest in working with athletes as she was a competitive gymnast for 12 years. In her free time, Kayli enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors and exploring wineries all over the country.

MACK STOLLEY
Physical Therapist 

Mack Stolley, PT, DPT graduated from Creighton University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in 2023.  He completed his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Health: Pre-Physical Therapy at Iowa State University in 2019. Mack is homegrown here in Iowa City where he attended Iowa City High School. He is excited to return to Iowa City and give back to his hometown and community. Mack enjoys working with many different cases, especially with athlete’s and weekend warriors. Mack enjoys spending his time outside the clinic weightlifting, getting together with friends and family, and anything sports related.

JAYNE NELSON 
Business Manager

Jayne Nelson is a certified Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) with experience in leadership, customer service and human resources. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2010 and began a six-year career with Target Corporation as an Assistant Store Manager and Human Resources Manager. In 2016, Jayne moved to Iowa City, IA to live closer to her family and joined the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as a Human Resources Generalist. Jayne joined Team Iowa Physical Therapy in November of 2019, and yes, she is Joe’s sister! In her free time, Jayne enjoys going to yoga classes, spending time with her family, and meeting up with friends at local coffee shops and restaurants.

MEAGAN SMITH 
Office Manager

Meagan graduated from The University of Iowa with a BA in Exercise Science in May 2020. She grew up in Kansas City, MO and moved to the Iowa City area in 2016 for school. After graduating, she married her husband Jarod. Meagan and Jarod now live in North Liberty, where they enjoy exploring new restaurants and going on walks with their chocolate lab Bailey. In her free time Meagan enjoys golfing, hosting friends and family, and cooking.
